"When you venture into the online MBA program at the University of Phoenix, your first task is to forget everything you ever learned about being a student. The rules are very different here. You will be reading lectures, articles, cases, and chapters online and running simulations to prepare for class rather than highlighting textbooks. You will study with a small group of peers (class size tops out at 12 students) that you may come to know quite well, primarily through your online correspondence. You won't "go to class" but rather will subscribe to various class-related newsgroups, download documents, and respond to email messages much as you do at work."

"Returning students who need an online program should do everything in their power to find a different school. It's an exception to find a UOP instructor who is fully competent. Standards between facilitators are practically non-existent. Class syllabuses are dictated by the University, and instructors frequently use this as an excuse for a poor class. The "Learning Team" element (which is intrinsic to every class and accounts for 40-60% of your grade) is nothing by a crapshoot."
