Most of the colleges and schools also offer on line programs apart from usual on campus program for Occupational Therapy Degree. Important Note: From January 2007 all states of America including Puerto Rico, District of Columbia and Guam has pass the resolution to raise the minimum education qualification for Occupational therapy practitioner from Bachelor degree to Master degree. This will affect the present Bachelor degree students, as now they have to complete the Master degree program in order to be eligible for National Certification Test for receiving the OTR license. Keeping this in mind doesn’t waste your time in Bachelor degree. Most prestigious colleges and schools has already withdrawn Bachelor degree programs and post baccalaureate certificate courses that are previously offered to those who has earn their degree with other than occupation therapy subjects.

Curriculum for occupational therapy is mainly focused on the different techniques used in the rehabilitation of mentally and physically handicapped patients. The program also covers psychology, medicine, anatomy and other theoretical subjects.

After successfully completing the Occupational therapy degree program you will be awarded a degree. After the Master degree you can appear in to the National Certification Test and becomes licensed OTR. Now you can practice Occupational therapy. You can start working with hospitals, clinics and other rehabilitation centers. In the year 2004 the salary drawn by occupational therapist working in different places are different, like the occupational therapist that are working with Home healthcare services has an average salary of $58,720per year, while those working in Nursing care facilities earn $56,570 and those working in Schools has average salary of $48,580 per year.
