After you have cleared the DAT and Bachelor degree in science you are ready to apply for admission in to the dental schools. American Association of Dental Schools Application Service abbreviated as AADSAS, is the agency specially formed to assist the student to fill up forms etc. The duration of Dental degree program is 4 years including internship. What they teach you? There may be slight difference in the curriculum for Dental degree program with different dental schools. But in general in the first year they focus more on theory than practical. Basic of biochemistry, anatomy and microanatomy of teeth, denture science, are some of the topics they teach you in first year. In practical you have to create the cavities by drilling in to artificial tooth usually made of plastic materials and other similar practical. As you progress in to second, third and fourth year of dental degree program you will learn the complete dentistry. After successfully completing the Dental Degree program you will be awarded with DDM degree. Now you can apply for the license for practice. For this, you have to clear the Clinical board exams, which takes around two days.
